Ultra Europe Phase 1 Lineup Revealed

10970137_696597140459043_689809709_oIf you weren’t already planning on venturing out to Split, Croatia this Summer (which, admittedly, is probably most of you), well, you might want to now: Ultra Europe has just announced its lineup for Phase 1 of the 3-day festival this July. And it’s fairly good. Let’s see what these guys have in store for us in Europe.

Hardcore EDM fans can rest easy knowing that most of the major headliners at the festival in Miami will be flying out to Split for another three days of sweaty, drug-induced festivities: Armin Van Buuren, Knife Party, Steve Angello, and more will be there. What’s more, the live headliners for the festival are The Chemical Brothers, who are not announced to play Ultra Miami. I guess that’ll act as an incentive to blow five grand and fly to Eastern Europe.

Ultra Miami’s new “Resistance” stage, a stage meant for the subtleties and nuance of underground dance music, will be given an equivalent in Europe. This basically means that those EDM fans who aren’t in love with the whole “build and drop” formula can still have a good time. If anything, it’ll be a nice repose for those who’ve partied a bit too hard at the Carl Cox & Friends stage. Who knows, you might fall in love with a new sub-genre you never even knew existed. Like Post-Trap. Or Witch House.

Ultra Europe is bound to be nothing short of ridiculous. Whether or not that’s a good thing is left entirely up to you. But keep in mind that last year, over 100,000 EDM lovers flew out to the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia to celebrate their love of the genre, dance, drink, perform ritualistic sacrifices, or whatever it is you people do.

Phase 2 is set to be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
