What first drew you into music?
I was involved at a church in North Ga and I was singing along with the band and the pastor asked me to join as a backup singer. I agreed ,only to find out the next day the lead singer had quit. So instead of cancelling the next service I took over the lead because I already knew the songs and it worked out. We ended up winning a Battle of the Bands down the road and won studio time so we were able to make a CD. It was an incredible experience. It was then I knew that music was a part of my life.
You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your track “Fire And Rain” is probably your best track yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind this track?
Fire and Rain came to me in my sleep , well it actually woke me up because Remember the Titans was playing on TV. The scene where the star defensive end was hurt in a car accident and James Taylor ‘s Fire and Rain was playing and I thought to myself, this would be a great song to remake, however put my own spin on it. I actually put it all together in about an hour from beginning to end..
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
New sounds.. Yes I love putting together a 90’s hiphop beat with some strings , violins and guitars. I love creating a dramatic story with a promising ending to overcome trials in our lives. Fire and Rain is a perfect example of getting your ass handed to you by life and learning how to reign over these predicaments . My plug ins are nothing special, I use Studio 4 which I lease monthly and do everything on my laptop. My vocals are done with my headphones plugged in and a mic that’s built in. Wish I had a little secret however I’ve taught myself how to do this with very minimal cost.
Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?
Well thank you!!! That means the world to me!! I put in a lot of late nights with little sleep and I have a mission that I am on. My son who is 6 is my absolute and only motivation for any success that I might have with this. Musical background, I guess started at bars singing Karaoke to an old girlfriend of mine, she loved Dust on the Bottle, lol.. Music fell into my lap in 2008 on a more serious note, however I never wrote my first song until 2017. There was a gap of no music from 2011 to 2017.
All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
Thank you, I Iove a good melody, lol. Unfortunately, I never had the patience to learn how to play instruments. My younger brother plays guitar and is really good. I’ve always been able to hear music and memorize words to songs, it has always been easy for me and as far as writing , I make the beat first then just tell a story . That’s the best way I can explain it.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
My goals are to collaborate with other artists and get some help with the technical part of it . As far as new projects, absolutely and can’t wait to finish this one up with an artist which I will remain nameless for now , lol. I’m really excited about the upcoming work and I just hope everyone will enjoy it!
