Joris Voorn Strides Into 2015 In Style With His Essential Mix

Over the past few years, there haven’t been many artists capable of creating an authentic atmosphere through electronic music, but Joris Voorn succeeds in doing so for his listeners in a truly clever and magnificent way:

Joris is renowned for his strong passion for his genre, and this enthusiasm extends to all its subcultures. He strives to create cinematic, danceable music and groovy melodic tunes for his devoted followers. While varied, Voorn’s musical scope never sacrifices its integrity—each piece he releases is masterfully curated and eloquently structured. Nobody Knows, his latest album, was really a beautiful listen and his approach to the Essential Mix is unlike anything we’ve heard before.

Leading the show with S.T.A.Y by none other than Hans Zimmer, Joris skillfully showcases one of the most respected productions in existence. Continuing by showcasing material from artists such as Dixon, Guy Gerber, Joran van Pol and Paul Kalkbrenner, Voorn has once again proven his incessant ambition and ability to appeal to diverse audiences.

“I love the musical freedom I had doing this Essential Mix,” states Voorn at the beginning of the show, “In this mix, it’s more about building a certain tension and taking it from there. So I start off quite atmospheric and bring in some melodies and some textures. And then, it’s much later when you hear an actual bass drum and the groove really stats. I really enjoyed putting this mix together and I hope you enjoy the trip.”

This marks Voorn’s first appearance on Pete Tong’s iconic radio show since his 2010 Creamfields mix, and he really hit the ground running. Welcome back Joris—the HBT Crew is eagerly awaiting more!
