Music is a big part of our culture in Cairo, Egypt. I’ve been exposed to it since I was a kid. My older brother was the one who introduced me to Electronic Dance Music. I would ride with him in his car and we would always be bumping dope artists like Armin Van Buuren, Paul Okenfold, Eric Morillo, and Sasha & Digweed. That kind of sound really caught my attention, from the groove to the emotional chord progressions, I was instantly Hooked!
I started looking up youtube tutorials on “How to DJ”, at a time when finding videos online was limited compared to today’s accessibility. A few years later at the age of 12, I downloaded FL Studio 8 for the first time and from there I started teaching myself how to use the DAW and find different ways to improve my musical knowledge.
Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?
Music is my life, and life is all about evolving: As I grow with my craft, I get inspired by many things around me, not just music. Traveling to different places around the world showed me how to appreciate the differences we have, as you get to experience new things that you wouldn’t normally be exposed to in your comfort zone. It makes me constantly looking for better and more advanced sound design techniques and constantly aim to put out quality and unique music people haven’t heard before.
It seems like you already found your signature sound 😊 Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?
The most common mistake upcoming musicians make is attempting to create a track that already exist or in many cases try to sound like one of their favorite artists (Which is usually the result of not separating whatever it is that influences you during the creative process). My environment is crucial to me and really sets the vibe to what I am creating. It’s important to be in your comfort zone and really get deep with yourself and your music to get in a state of mind where your able to produce more of an original sound that’s coming from within.
Another major thing is sample use. Many producers fall into the hole of using samples from these big named sample pack companies that everyone has and get called out for using it as is. I have no problem with sampling, as I of course do it as well, as long as you resample it to where it is your own. Be creative with it! Don’t just drag these samples in and put some processing on it and call it a day. Spend time to actually tweak and flip it into something you can incorporate with your music.
Your track “Rail Alert” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?
Rail Alert is definitely one of my favorites. It’s a vibe on its own! I have been inspired by many live shows I’ve gotten to see in the states for the past 4 years. I really wanted to have a heavy, high energy track like “Rail Alert” on my catalogue that I can perform live with some dope visuals along with it, creating one hell of an experience on the dancefloors. As for my creative process I don’t have a specific way of working on music and every track comes out different. My main ritual is to twist one up while setting up my session. Then I’m ready to get down to business.
What are your musical goals for the future?
I have a vision of becoming one of the biggest music acts out of Egypt. I wish to have the resources to shine a spotlight on the talent we have. I want to help put many artists around the world on a platform that genuinely supports them as artists, before any kind of business partnership.
As far as my actual music career, I just want to stay blessed, tour, and share my music with people around the world. I wish to have the opportunity to keep working on dope projects with other musicians and really create memorable, quality and timeless music.
What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
I’ll be releasing a new track every month that will be available on my soundcloud and all other major music platforms. I plan to keep working to bring the dopest and most unique sounds to you. I have a few shows getting started in Los Angeles and other major cities that I will soon announce…so stay tuned for that.
I am also an Audio Engineer, so I have a few artists that I’m working with that will be dropping new Hip-Hop and R&B projects soon. All of which I have produced and engineered. Those projects feature tracks that were very fun and different for me to write, compared to my electronic music. I really hope people enjoy it!
