What first drew you into music?
When we started Blkd Out in 2015 we strove to be a diamond a rough in this industry. Our goals were to be a band that revitalized music, to give music fans a unique perspective and push the overall boundaries of what people expect.
Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?
Our musical process is rigorous. Our musical expectations constantly change and evolve as well. We have covered many genres of music over the 4 years we have been producing together. We tend to focus on bringing a fresh spin on music that has become jaded over time and bring relevance to the modern listener.
It seems like you already found your signature sound 😊 Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?
Our advice to upcoming musicians would be to stick to what inspires you. Let what fuels you creatively inspire your work but do not try to sound like or copy anyone else. It’s crucial in this business to find where you fit in and find a sound that your fans love that will keep them coming back.
Your track “All Alone” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the Incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?
Before we made All Alone we spent some time away from music. It was our first time experimenting with tech house and we wanted to create something that conveyed a range of emotion. Our songs are always created that way but All Alone is intended to be a musical roller coaster and gives a hint towards the direction of what we have planned for 2020.
What are your musical goals for the future?
Life is too short for long term goals. We are here to make a difference with our music now. If you would have asked us that 4 years ago when we were starting in the garage, I’m sure we would have been more than happy to be in our current situation. As for the next 4 years it’s tough to have expectations but we will be more than happy to continue to impress influencers such as yourself.
What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
We have an upcoming record with G Mafia Records that we are stoked about. We have been in talks with their label for some time now and it’s nice to finally have a big collaboration with them. Listeners that are looking forward can expect it early December.
