The talented Italian duo are a household name throughout the EDM industry, and their tracks often grace Top 10 lists the world over. The HBT team was delighted to have the chance to meet the minds behind VINAI, so read on for an exclusive peak.
What do you think of the term “EDM”? Many people consider EDM to be an umbrella term that encompasses several other sub-genres of music, like house. Some believe that house is more descriptive, and that the term EDM is refers to big-room, mass-distributed music.
We think this is exactly the concept, an “umbrella” with a lot of sub-genres incorporated. For sure the kind of genre that most represents us is “electro-house” one and our sub-genre we’d like to call Big-Room-Bounce.
Where do you think the dance music industry is headed? Do you think this style of music is on the rise, or that as the industry progresses, musicians will specialize and develop their own genres for different markets?
Well, the latter, we think. The key is that every single producer will create his/her own kind of “style,” like we think we did. You don’t want to repeat any DJ or producer before you, right?
Where do you find your inspiration? Tell us a little bit about your creative process. Do you stay up all night working, or do you get up early? Do you work separately, or do you work best side by side?
Inspiration really comes from a lot of different things. Sometimes just from a sound we’ve created, sometimes from a melody, and sometimes also from a place in the world we are visiting. There’s not one plan or schedule we work with, a good track can come up any time!
What are you working on right now?
Two new collaborations and our new solo single Legend! We are super excited for this, as Legend was supported by a lot of DJs and came out on Spinnin’ Records on the 20th of April. A really special moment for sure!
Can we expect an album dropping anytime soon? How do you balance being on tour and recording?
Mmm…. An album will probably come up in the future, but not in these two upcoming years. Too busy with balancing all the touring and recording already, haha!
What are your goals for the future?
For sure to achieve a good ranking in the DJ Mag list and play the biggest festivals around the world.
Is there anything you’d like to try out with your music, anyone in particular with whom you’d want to collaborate, any events you’d like to perform at?
For sure David Guetta. He is a very nice person and a mentor for us, so it would be an honour to work with him and create something new.
