Your latest track switchback is one of the best club tracks we have heard in 2017, Care to share more about your creative processes and how “switchback” came to life?
Switchback is a song that I made six months ago. I create songs without worrying about trends and try to express myself. I want to represent my inspiration as it is and express it with sound. It was the first song I put out on Soundcloud recommended by my friends and it was the first song I ever released online! The background of the switchback still remains strong, but it is very simple. At that time I helped my grandfather with his work. When I heard the sound of iron and rusty iron I immediately knew what I can do with this theme.
Japan is known for its electronic music scene and its amazing crowds, How is it like playing in japan? Do you have a favorite spot to party?
I think that it has grown rapidly since ultra, EDC and various festivals came out in the last few years. Because people and festivals are getting more and more popular year by year I think that it is very wonderful thing. I haven’t been DJing in the last 2-3 years. I certainly want to do awesome things and I’m betting my life on it. Since I have a broader perspective with longer eyes I do not think I would like to do it in Japan.
Switchback came out almost a month ago. Do you have any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
Yeah. I wanted that question! I was looking forward to that as well as most of them, I tried to send a demo to the advertising label of my favorite DJ. I do not know if it can be released, but I got feedback and advice earlier.
However, I feel that I can grow reliably. That’s why I can keep the potential high. I want to express my presence by putting it in various Soundcloud channels and other media channels. Because music and country and race are irrelevant, and it can connect with various people with common language.
PVLSE is a very unique name, how did you come up with that name? Does it have any special meaning?
I had my own activity name consulted with a friend from the same industry. I used to work with a different name before, when I was about to leave the music at that time I was spiritually helped by my friends, and it’s the name that I gave you to go back from there. At first I was confused
How would you summarize 2017?
It was a year since I was thinking about what I really wanted to do and what I would like to do in the future, even if it’s not going to be difficult.
What are your goals for the new year?
Next year’s goal is to put more emphasis on making songs, I want to make it as a DJ this year and I want to play overseas.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What are your long term goals? (If you don’t mind sharing that with us ?)
I was 16 years old five years ago. In the past 5 years I had better experience than anything else in the same generation and it was awful hard to look back on. I do not forget appreciation to my family and surroundings more than anything, I hope I can give back to myself. I think it is important to penetrate the most important things in my life. I want to keep making music and I will be very happy if I succeed with it.
