You are one of the few Mix only producers that got our
attention and that’s because of your incredible mixing skills! Could you tell
us more about your mixing process and how do you find the tracks?
Wow, that’s great to hear, I am really
honored and proud to receive a compliment like this. Thanks a lot!
I am always looking for special tracks
aside mainstream. Usually I am scanning through all of the well-known music
platforms and several internet radio stations. Shazam is therefor my most
important tool. Trying to dig through all these tracks is what takes up most of
my time. I carefully select and buy my favorite tracks and sort them according
to moods and mark highlight very special ones for my sets. The actual mixing is
a very fast act of instinct without overthinking it a lot beforehand. That´s
the reason why I could not do the same mix again, too much improvisations. I
always want to add my special note to the mix by implementing nifty effects to
intensify the tune and try to take the listeners on a magical ride through my
set.
Your mixes are great and we feel like they would be great
on the dancefloor 😊 Are you a full time DJ? If you aren’t do you
plan to DJ in the future?
Oh I am delighted to hear that! That
is what my mixes are meant to! That’s all I want to do – make people dance and
have fun! But I am very far from being a full time DJ! If I will ever get
there? I would love to. But being a ‘no name’ doesn’t get my gigs.
I would certainly love to get into the
world of professional DJing in the future.
Coming from Germany home to some of the best clubs in the
world do you have any favorite clubbing spots?
Most definitely, and I do have to say
I am very grateful for the fact that Germany is well-known for its clubs. On
top of that there are a lot of awesome festivals that are worth mentioning.
Nuremberg is beside Berlin probably my favorite city when it comes to events
and clubbing, and if you are looking to travel, I would recommend checking out
Nuremberg and its clubs. Unfortunately I do have to say that our state of
Bavaria has more and more restrictions that makes it tough for organizers of
music events. It seems almost like authorities are trying to throw a wrench
into new developments of our music culture, which is absolutely sad!
Listening to your Mixes we already know you have great
taste in music! Do you plan to start producing your own music in the future
I appreciate the compliment, and yes,
I am planning to produce my own music in the future. But first I need to get
more experience and it would be of advantage to get my foot into the music
scene first.
You have only started putting up Mixes 7 months ago. With
that being said we can’t believe you have only started DJing this long ago. Could
you tell us more about when you started and who were your inspirations?
Well that’s right. That’s the reason
why I am still making a lot of mistakes and still learning a lot. I don’t want
to sound arrogant, but the main reason for me to become a DJ were disappointing
events at small private parties where I was on the dancefloor thinking “Oh come
on DJ! There are so many cool tunes, get me dancing!” Or “Oh no how lame is that tune now?” when I was
dancing already.
Since then I am trying to avoid these
thoughts in my listeners.
What are your goals for 2019? Any upcoming projects we
can get excited about
My main goal for this year is to make
a name for myself and by doing so reaching more and more people on the
dancefloors. I am excited about new doors that are opening for me and I
absolutely appreciate any help I can get. I have a lot more sets coming your
way, so stay tuned!
Thank you
very much for this interview!
Best wishes
