We’ve both had a very unique introduction to the music scene. Alex was into video production for many years and thru the process of finding new music for videos, he started to build a massive portfolio of music that he was into and sparked his interest a lot. For me (Casey), when the app Vine started to get big, a lot of people were posting sports highlight edits with sick EDM Mashups and from there I started making my own mashups.
Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?
A lot of the sounds and melodies in the electronic music space have become very repetitive and generic, it’s very easy to tell what sounds get old quickly and in order for us to want to make music we have to expand our influences. We love the idea of making music that we can repetitively listen to and by doing so, we usually have to incorporate our own style!
It seems like you already found your signature sound 😊 Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?
In our music we really try to focus on bright melodies, we definitely have found a few synths that we incorporate in almost every track and its just become something that we really enjoy! For anybody that wants to find their own style, go through the music you really enjoy and break those tracks down to the core sounds, melodies, vocals. When you establish what elements really intrigue you, it will be a lot easier to find your sound.
Your track “Kids” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the Incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?’
We appreciate that a lot! Growing up, we both loved that song. We noticed that there wasn’t any big remixes and we found our in. We actually sat on that finished track for months before dropping it due to the fact we have been very strategic about kicking off our TWINSICK Project. Very happy with response on the track, we love it and stoked other people do too!
What are your musical goals for the future?
We have our sights set very high and a schedule that will help direct us. The next two years we will be focusing heavily on dropping our own records, and many of them. During that process we’d love to make our way up the ranks in the show space and find ourselves playing festivals and hopefully a tour.
What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
We have a very special project dropping very soon, you’ll know it when you see it! We have a lot of content in the works that will completely take our brand in a much different direction than most artists in the space. And as a whole, a lot of new original music from us. We’ve never been more excited to start releasing our own work and you’ll see a lot of that dropping on Spotify before April!
