Hands down, the first thing that comes to mind is FAMILY! In my family, there are many talented musicians but the person that motivated me the most to get into music was my brother. He is probably the main reason I got into music. Listening to his tracks and seeing him in the studio constantly definitely was my motivation to keep getting better and better. Secondly, I feel that music is one of the most beautiful things that anyone can be apart of if they put their mind to it. It’s a form of expression that can bring out a part of you that nothing else can in my opinion.
You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your track “Man No Cry” is probably your best track yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind this track?
Wow! That means a lot coming from anyone, let alone you guys knowing that you listen to a ton of dope musicians daily. Thank you. As for the track, in its simplest form, it’s just trying to find a balance between love in any relationship and not letting anyone take you out of your character, especially if they don’t mean the best for you.
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
YES! Haha, I love music period. It doesn’t matter the genre or person behind the track. Music to me is way more complex than that in my eyes. So I tend to just make music depending on my mood, or the type of music im listening to at the time which usually helps me to experiment with different sounds. Right now I am literally doing everything myself, except make the beat that I sing/rap to. So I still have a bunch to learn and experiment with, but I mainly use stock plugins on Logic Pro and more recently, some Waves plugins every now and then.
Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?
Jeez! Thanks again! Like I said before I do all of the recording and engineering myself so any compliment is much appreciated. That being said, I still try to push myself for a better sound each and every time I step into my studio. I am blessed enough to have a studio in my basement (thanks to my brother) where I can take my time in a secluded surrounding. I learn mostly from youtube about how to edit your own tracks and its been working great so far! As for my background, I have always seen my family and family friends be a part of a group called “Class Act So Hood” so only about a year ago I said “you know what, lemme try this music thing” haha and as soon as I recorded my first verse, I fell in love. It’s a really great feeling for me being in the booth and I encourage everybody that is interested to just try it out. My first songs, looking back at them, weren’t that good but after a while I found a comfort zone that made my music sound better and better.
All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
I think I love melodic music the most, it’s just so versatile. I took a guitar class in high school one year but im mostly self taught and I’m trying to teach myself piano which is pretty hard to do, haha.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
My goal is to be able to reach out to more people with the music I do have out now through my performances and interviews like this one. I’m really working hard in the studio everyday making something new, to the point where I can release an ep, and even an album or two. But, I feel now is not the time to do such a thing. I will, however, start releasing a new song every month that I feel people can vybe to and enjoy listening to more than just one time. But most importantly, I will continue to make the music that I love to create and listen to. Trust the process, this is only the absolute beginning!
