What first drew you into music and rap/hip-hop in particular?
If we speaking particulars lol I have to say, my mom. She is not a singer nor rapper. No industry connections or experience but her love for music. I was maybe 9 10 yrs old listening to my favorite rapper which was Nas & my mom walks in on me & says “listen to the words. The beats are nice but the words he speaks have sentimental value” & every since that day I wrote & wrote & wrote. My moms was a big inspiration in why I started writing.
Your track “On my mama” is very modern and the lyrics are amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?
Thank you lol I mean I didn’t necessarily aim to have a signature sound it just comes you know. Certain sounds trigger aggression and that’s how I write for that time of the trigger. There’s no specific formula. I usually just follow my emotion. Emo rapper! Lol most of my lyrics are based off emotion or what emotion is triggered when I hear a certain sound. I definitely can be defined as somewhat of an emotional person lol
You don’t mention any producers in your tracks, do you produce them yourself?
Na I find beats & lease them. If I
actually worked one on one with a producer or we actually build that vibe to
create then I can see myself shooting them a line or two. I mean shit now that
u mentioned I should do more of it lol. I just get stuck in my head once I have
that vision of what I want the song to be. I get focused on my words & how
I say them.them.by the time I think about name dropping my verses are done lol
You have recently released a track titled “LM Hussle” The track is a modern Trap/Old school fusion and we wonder if you plan to release more Old School sounding tracks in the future
Yea the LM hussle part 1 & 2 all came from my love of nipsey hussle. He died it devastated me & I know just from study there are close to none who raps like him. Who brings that genuine vibe on a beat. Who tries to educate WHILE speaking the language of urban kids. It’s one thing to speak knowledge it’s another to teach knowledge at a level where the urban kids comprehend. He’s a genius & I wanna continue that part of the game. I do plan to release more. I think I’m going to keep the series going part 3,4 etc.
What are your musical goals for the future?
my goals are to spread my message at a high rate. I don’t want just a certain amount or a core fan base to listen. I wanna talk like this at the highest level. I wanna reach the ears of the poor kids in Asia feel me? This ain’t about accolades to me. It’s about me wanting to be heard for the things I have to say & at a high level. & of course taking good care of my family but besides that, I just wanna be heard man. But on another hand? Business is key for me. I wanna do business at high levels also. Real estate cryptocurrency stock exchange neighborhood ventures to get these kids some guaranteed help. I got visions & plans to execute.
What are your goals for the summer? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
This summer my main goal is ears. MORE EARS! More plays more organic growth thru fans thru ppl. Create a buzz for 4th quarter shows.
I’m going to drop a playlist. First three songs are getting dropped as singles. The first song I’m letting go is called prolific. Real chill beat but raw truth in the lyrics. I think the ppl are going to like it!
