What first drew you into music production and EDM in particular?

I took interest in music production a few years back but I was mainly focused on making rap and hip hop beats. A little while passed and I went to my first EDM show, Zomboy was playing in Lawrence, Kansas, and I never experienced an atmosphere like it. From there I started experimenting in the studio and it wasn’t long before I was hooked and making some of my first chord progressions and melodies.

We haven’t seen any remixes on your Soundcloud, do you plan to release some in the future?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any remix projects in the works right now but there are so many artists I would love to remix, like Elohim, Cash Cash, and Yung Pinch to name a few. Of course getting ahold of some of these artists isn’t the easiest so I have tried some projects with a few smaller artists like myself, but nothing has turned out just yet.

How did you manage to develop such great mixing skills in such a short time? Any tips you can share?

The projects you see on my Soundcloud are not an accurate representation of how long I’ve been doing music. For about a year and a half, I spent all my time watching video tutorials and artist masterclasses. It was a long process and a lot of times I felt like I wasn’t progressing but after so many hours you start to pick up some skills and things will come together. My best tip to give is to just be creative. Music is all about expressing yourself in a way that no one else can so put all of your emotions into your music, you might find something you like.

Your latest track “You and Me” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story of this track? Also, what is your creative process like?

This track was an enjoyment from the start. I had to the opportunity to sit down with another talented artist from Kansas City and work on my first collaborative piece. I made the first build of the song the same day as Sydnie came over to record some vocals. It was our first time working together so I wasn’t sure what to expect but her voice is absolutely incredible so it wasn’t long before we had the vocals for the track. From there I think I finished the track in about 2 weeks. My creative process consists of simply trying to depict my emotions. Humans are constantly feeling emotion so I try to find inspiration from how I am feeling.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I hope to be headlining my own tour across the United States and making my way to a global scale. Playing for every one of my fans is something I think would be very special.

What are your goals for 2018? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

I have a few singles I am excited to release for the rest of 2018 and I plan on releasing my first EP early in 2019. It will be 7 tracks that take you through the emotional journey that has made me realize my passion for music. All the ups and downs over the past years really helped me put this project together and I am beyond excited to share it!
