Well… originally being from Queens New York there was always a Tap in with music especially with my older brothers influencing me heavy with artists around the way like Nas, 50, Jay and the list goes on. No Cap my pops put me on with jazz, rock and disco which clicked my mind to listening deep into sound patterns and waves on a track. Then by 13 my boys older bro had a protools program and a mac laptop with a mic, I never looked back made a project next thing you know by 15 im in Jam Master Jay studio working on my next project with my bro Dj Teardropz whos a long time friend of my older bro.
Your track “Yeah” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?
Thank you! After recording over the years I studied my voice and how a track naturally flaws my mood. I always like to depict short stories in my verses but not being straight blunt about it cause I prefer my fans to focus on the vibe on the entire production quality especially the whisper adlibs im bringing into the genre. My creative process is peaceful. I loved the sound of the guitar that my producer Yung Nab killed it with. I cant just record the minute I get it I live it. I can vibe to the instrumental on my for week or 2 or a month simply from life experiences that come with time, something we cant control that’s the difference between a track and a record.
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
I usually use 4 studios when recording studios. One of them is in Queens with my bro Teardropz. One in Brooklyn working on projects with gang lol… Chef Blue Magic, IBN Easy and Aaron Kash they’re label mates and close bros. Another one is in Downtown Manhattan with another one of my bros and producers Mike who produced records for Justin Bieber. Then there’s my home studio where I feel as if I get my most creative mainly cause I’m by myself able to be me without anyone around. Once done in my home studio I would send my record to Florida for my other bro A.M to mix and master. I use protools and a mac desktop in all of my studios cause we gotta be compatible when sending records off. My favorite instrument hands down Guitar. Between hearing Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and George Santana make beautiful compositions out of strings does it from there.
Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
I can play the guitar and Piano on Novice stage lol… almost intermediate but for now I’m just trying to master vocal tones to the max besides delivering bars.
What are your musical goals for the future?
Like every inspiring and or upcoming artist, on a billboard getting awards and having my music played out to masses of people who don’t even speak my language but feel the vibes I deliver ya dig!
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
This month as we close the year out I’m just focusing on truly growing the fan-base more and 2 shows in NYC on the 28th. For 2020 I plan to o more shows in the U.S and out of the country at the same time I will be dropping a project late February early March. This project’s 80% done. I feel like this project is Bigger Than Me. It tells a little story behind it. It’s all genuine. The time spent working on it with my bros felt priceless. Especially with the features. On one of the records I got my bro Rellz Kyza whos doing sometime now. On 2 others I got my bro BIIGGS and manager/mentor GK who both passed away this year and last year. Life gives you a reason and a meaning so Im gonna make sure my fans get the best of me and let the world truly understand my poetry in motion.
