What first drew you into music?
I think what really drew me into music was the melodies and instrumentals I would hear constantly. Everytime I heard a new type of sound, I would be heavily inspired and have this innate feeling to start writing. Being able to create whatever it is that you feel without any permission is probably one of the greatest feelings in this world.
Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?
Yeah, I love testing new things out to see what can be created. I usually listen to new songs everyday & find elements that I can incorporate to my own sound. I think what inspires me is not wanting to be rigid and complacent in my style. Without other sources of knowledge, there wouldn’t be a chance to be truly creative. Plus, the best songs out were made by going outside of the box.
It seems like you already found your signature sound. Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?
Just start testing things out. The summer of 2019 I made 20 songs and decided to mess around with each to see which blend I liked best. Don’t worry about what others think of your music or numbers, what matters is if you like what you’re making. As you progress, you’ll start to understand that your music life is as important as your personal life.
Your track “Buried Alive” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the Incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?
With the track “Buried Alive”, I was at a point in my life where I was constantly checking to see if people were liking my music/content and I started to feel very overwhelmed. Near August, I kind of started to realize that validation from others will only lead me so far, so why not actually enjoy my craft? I remember recording the vocals at first and they were very subpar but I took a nap and felt encouraged to try once more. Most times, I find instrumentals that make me want to write and start to think of 10 different melodies that can fit in that one song.
What are your musical goals for the future?
I plan on touring, having merchandise, and overall being a better music artist. I want to be able to have a diverse set of music that people can enjoy.
What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
I just released a new project “REBIRTH-” available on streaming platforms and on my website kingkhalafalla.com . Watch out for the summertime, I have something special waiting for my moon children!
