I always liked singing. I was in the school choir when i was 8 years old. I was writing poetry when I was 13, and started writing lyrics when I was 15.. So the transition into songwriting was next in the evolution. I started creating songs.
Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?
I have always liked different genres: Punk, Pop, Metal, Old Scool, Hip Hop, R&B, Rap, Alternative, and Classical. I like all music that is done well. Because I understand how much of one’s self is put into a track to take it from a thought… to finishing the final mix. What my thoughts lead me to create… is a fusion of sounds that incorporate certain musical elements and composition that are rarely matched together. In hopes to create a unique experience for the listener. For example: R&B music…with a Rock vocal. I believe I have found my sound in doing so.
It seems like you already found your signature sound Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?
I would not limit ones self to a certain genre. Experiment with writing out of your comfort zone. In doing so? You may open the doors to finding your true sound. Then you can incorporate your sound in your chosen genre, or any genre across the board.
Your track “Shine” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the Incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?
When I came up with shine. A relationship with a girl that meant everything to me had just ended. It was even more heartfelt because it was a perfect love that was just not meant to be. She lives in England and I live in Los Angeles. Impossible. So with tears in my eyes, I was gazing out of my window at the darkness of night, and I could see a bright light shinning in the distance. The lyric came to me..Shine your love light through my window…I then sat down and one hour later, I had written the lyrics for SHINE. I wanted the music to convey the emotion of love and loss to be as powerful as the lyrics. It all came together to create the perfect story in song of my life.
What are your musical goals for the future?
I am hoping one day be signed by a label. To have the outlet for my unique sound to be heard by all who believe in true love.
What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
I am currently taking a short break for the holidays. SHINE took a lot out of me to complete. When I work on a song. I give it everything I have in me! Emotionally and physically. Because it is a reflection of me…IT IS MY LIFE!
