Playlist #002: Trap Haus

For the second instalment of the playlist series, we decided to highlight a few genres that sometimes get overshadowed by the popularity of Progressive and Big Room. Trap Haus brings together songs ranging from electro to moombahton in order to create the effect of a bass-heavy club atmosphere. The basslines in all of the tracks are clean and precise in order to maintain a specific momentum throughout the playlist, however, the subtle melodies that crescendo to the forefront before the drop are neither overpowering nor weak, but rather harmonious to the bass.

If the playlist is listened through from start to finish, rather than just choosing a few tracks out of the bunch, the overall effect should feel like a live set show. I chose these songs because they make you want to dance – not jump or fist bump, but rather just let loose and surrender yourself to the bassline that guides your movement. What matters is that you are able to experience the intangible magnificence of music that unites us all, and the variety of realities it creates.

Enjoy Trap Haus.
