Nero New Album Hype

The hype is real. The London-based dance music supergroup Nero is in the process of releasing a new album – an album that is, in the words of Metropolis Studios’ Stuart Hawkes, “definitely worth waiting for!”

This new work will mark the end of a four year studio album-less period for the group. After releasing the hit Welcome Reality in 2011 (including blockbuster tracks such as Me and You, Promises, and Innocence) which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, Nero has only gifted us with a handful of singles and remixes. These post-2011 tracks, while few in number, are among the most popular to grace the EDM scene. The most notable of the bunch, a remix of Promises that was co-produced with Skrillex, skyrocketed Nero into the mainstream EDM spotlight, garnering around 35 million hits on YouTube and 7 million on Soundcloud and won them a Grammy in 2013 for Best Non-Classical Remixed Recording.

Needless to say, we Nero fans are ready for more. On March 19th, the group announced they had finished the album, and released a new track, The Thrill. They gave no indication of its actual release date (we can only pray that it comes soon), but one can assume that when the day comes, a new masterpiece of Welcome Reality proportions will be gracing our ears. Until then, I, and every other Nero fan will wait with bated breath – come join us.
