What first drew you into music?

We all got kicked out of music class in grade 8 and our teacher said to make a pretend album, but Butch had this shit on his laptop and he was making beats and we all started rapping over them back then. It’s just evolved ever since. 

Your track “White Doves” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?

I remember showing up borderline blackout to Butch’s house and singing the chorus over a type beat we found. We listened to it for a while, and Butch scrapped the whole beat, hopped on the piano and built a new one around the vocals. Usually our creative process is sippin’ on a scary amount of beers and yelling ideas at each other while Joley cries and pukes. That session where we recorded White Doves was special though, I won’t ever forget that.

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments? 

Last time we had a mic taped to a snow shovel in the basement at mine and Joel’s place. We kind of just make a studio whenever we feel like singing. Lately piano though, I don’t know why. I just fucking love pianos right now.

Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments? 

No, I don’t play anything. I’ve been trying to get Butch to show me how to play the piano cause he’s like a young Beethoven. I always tell people Slawson plays the guitar just cause he looks like a motherfucker that does, I don’t think he plays it though.

What are your musical goals for the future?

I just wanna keep making music with my friends. I want Joely to make more shit, and once Slawson comes home from the trees I wanna make a whole album with him. Butch and I have so much unreleased music, and once he gets his own place we’re gonna go insane in there. Shawssy’s truning his basement into a studio too I think. I don’t care if we blow up or not I just wanna keep on making music with my brothers. 

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

Butch just dropped an album on Soundcloud like 10 days ago. Yung Touka has singles coming out like every week.  Jams for Your Motel Room coming so so soon, Swan Creek coming too.
