Ever since i was a little kid i feel iv’e always had this connection with Music in itself..I never had a set preference of Music that i liked to listen to; Iv’e always been open minded to just about every kind of Music, which i feel has definitely impacted me in being the type of versatile Musical Artist that i am today. I knew Music was what i truly wanted to do by the time i was 12 Years old.
Your track “Go High” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?
Thank you, “GO HIGH” Definitely has been a fan favorite ever since i released it. Fun fact about that song, I wrote it all in about 2-3 hours.The song itself actually came about when i had to submit a track/Music video for this Contest held by the producer who Produced the beat (KatoOnTheTrack) back in 2018 when i was only 19 years old. As far as the signature sound of the song i honestly just got creative with it and had fun, as well as making it a bit of a motivational song at the same time to inspire people. My creative process when it comes to creating songs usually starts with whatever type of vibe i feel once i listen to the instrumental, and from there ill determine what type of overall mood/vibe the whole song should be about, then i just stick with that main idea and get innovative with it & have fun!
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
I absolutely love experimenting with all different unique type of sounds, which go’s back to what i was saying earlier to my wide range of Music that i listen to on the regular. I believe as a true Musical Artist it’s important to have an open mind to all different types of Music and Sounds, I feel it helps you to be more creative with your own Music as well as giving you endless inspiration for new ideas you can implement in your own work. My studio setup is the same that iv’e had since i was 17 years old, Nothing to fancy i started off with a AKG P120 Microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Interface, and FL Studio. Iv’e made a good amount of songs on my Soundcloud with it but not all songs. As far as favorite instruments i like a lot of different sounds like i said, but whatever i feel got a dope/distinct sound is usually what im drawn to.
Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
I make it a point to make sure all of my Music sounds Organic and authentic as possible. Aside from my Vocals i actually don’t play any other instruments consistently, but when i was younger i did play the drums for a little bit and even experimented with the electric guitar and actually really enjoyed it. I definitely plan on practicing more with those instruments down the line as well as some others.
What are your musical goals for the future?
My Musical goals for the future is literally to make it point for “Mondell” to go down as one of- If not the best, Musical Artist of all time. I plan on achieving and breaking countless Musical records/Achievements far beyond what anyone else has ever done before.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
My goals for the coming months is to release a couple more hit singles and see Mondell’s name buzzing like crazy, And soon after plan a date to release my my first official project.. If you enjoyed “GO HIGH” or “Can’t Wait” then just wait till you hear what i got in store in the vault for 2020!!
