What first drew you into music?
Poetry and beats. I mean as the artist “Lyricast”, checking feelings with how i say what i say and complimenting rhythm with creativity. Being myself and dropping every ounce of that feeling into a sound that hits the soul.
You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your sample tracks from “Troubles In My Cup: Vol 1” is probably your best works yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind the album?
Well, I can tell you that I’m just going to keep doing me and take constructive criticism where i see progression! I’ve never been one to follow the crowd. A1, since day 1. “Troubles In My Cup” will be one of the most rooted mixtapes to drop. Solid! “A toast to the good, while tripping off the bad and wondering how much self-control, is self control when emotions hit home.” Not just …another record.
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
Haha, caught me! I’m not as fixed on copying the blueprint or best practices, as i am to figuring out how to sonically sound just as good if not better with my work-around. Far from dope, and yet still better than your average.
Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?
Maybe i’m a fast learner in certain areas of life, who leaves room for growth and consistency! Creativity…it’s all I ever had. The way i think, my likes, actions, and stuff like that. My parents didn’t have the money to continue piano lessons as a child. It all started from there! I produced, wrote and recorded a song titled “Credits” while attending music school at the “Atlanta Institute of Music and Media”. As controversial as other song titled “We Outchea”, lol…it’s my first full production ever and that’s all the way down to the nitty gritty minus the live drums and mastering! Shout Out to Christopher Fragale and Keith O’neill (We Outchea), Scott Kieklak and Rich Stratton (Credits), and Fabo Weißbrod, Ray Seay and Kenny Mixx (Motivation)… The more people choose to listen and see, the more doors open for team Lyricast.
All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
I play with my voice all the time, no beatbox! But nah.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
From song-writing, to producing, to recording and mixing … Not always in that order either! I seek to be a better version of me everyday and not just an artist, but i’m talking man-to-man and/or woman. “Troubles In My Cup: Vol 1” started off as a Hip Hop mixtape, FREE for download and dropping in early 2020 on www.livemixtapes.com. The EP…gone be slick crazy!
