Indulge in [BLCK//TYLR]

What first drew you into music?

I got into music because i loved playing video games. I would listen to the soundtrack to games like HALO and The legend of Zelda and would sometimes not even play the game but just have the in-game audio play wile i did my homework or something.

Your track “Clearwater” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?

many of my productions start from  just listening to music honestly. Everyday I try to listen to an artist. I have never heard before , from any genre. Normally that will give me some ideas for a track. But i don’t start sampling or anything until 1am. I am wide awake by that time but usually i am the only one awake. There is nobody to distract me from what ideas i have , so i can usually get an idea into song format in about an hour.  Without that gap of time early in the morning i normally don’t get anything done for days.

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?

So generally my setup is fairly minimal. I have my Ableton push 2, a neewer n-700 condenser microphone and my 7 string Ibanez guitar. Those 3 things are always connected if i ever get the urge to just record anything.

Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments?

Yea i primarily play guitar.  More recently i have been learning how to play a multi-scale 8 string lead guitar though.

What are your musical goals for the future?

My goals for  the future would be to  start building a rack of hardware synths and guitar effects pedals . I only have a few real instruments and i would love to start a collection.

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

I have been working with many different sounds as of recently. I do plan on releasing a half-time project . I feel like half-time is where my ideas will come together well because i can incorporate all of my organic instruments along with my gritty basses.. so I’m expecting that to be done  by mid November mostly.
