Meet Pecul!ar Th!ngs
What first drew you into music?
What first got my attention of EDM, goes all the way back to 2011 when FeedMe released his EP “To The Stars”. I was blown away by the psychedelic and ambient vibes he had mixed with some heavy bass. Ever since then I had embraced that energy in my heart and that’s when I fell in love.
Your track “Another Frequency” is absolutely amazing! How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative process like?
Finding my sound was not easy. I’ve been doing meditation and yoga and learning about chakras and really got to know myself and my frequency. I try to understand my heart and express those feels in my music. CBE is what I call it -CANNABASS ENERGY- bringing you good vibes and heavy bass. 420 vibes is my vibe. My creative process is peculiar at times sometimes I’ll just start with the metronome and smoke a few joints and get lost with the rhythm because life’s a rhythm and I believe if you can connect your heart and soul with that force the creative process is infinite.
Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?
To be honest all I use is a iMac and headphones and keyboard. I use logic x pro and there custom plug ins as well ozone and fab filter. As far as synths I always said never to get comfortable with just one synth but to experiment and explore. But one of my favorites is Pigments and alchemy.
Your music sounds very organic and authentic. Do you play any real-life instruments?
I play piano, trumpet, baritone and drums. I’m wanting to strengthen my music theory skills on the piano and experiment with the strings side of things
What are your musical goals for the future?
My goals are to spread positivity and help the bass community grow as one and to be inspired and motivated to embrace what they love and chase there dreams. It’s about being present in the moment and sharing our experiences to help one another live a happy and healthy life.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
I’m working on a few projects involved musically and in the art/cartoon world. I choose comics and cartoons to help keep the imagination of people fired up and inspired, as well spreading positive uplifting messages.
