What first drew you into hip-hop?
I’ve always had a profound interest in music when I was younger growing up I listened to mostly 90s rock and jazz while living with my mom. At around 6-7th grade I started really getting into Logic, Odd Future, & Kendrick Lamar after being recommended to me from my older brother, who’s a big hip hop head himself and that kinda rubbed off on me.
Your track “all the roses” is very modern and sounds very professional. How did you achieve such a great signature sound in such a short time? Also, what is your creative processes like?
Playing the track over and over to make sure the mixing is precise and clear, something I plan to keep working on as the music progresses. When I listen to a beat, I feel the emotion of the sound to write down different feelings and thoughts. These recordings would then help determine the layout of the track.
You have worked with many great producers/artists in the past. If you could work with anyone who would that be?
If I could work with anyone in the music industry, I’d definitely work with Earl sweatshirt, Isaiah Rashad, Joey bada$$, and XXXTentacion to name a few.
Listening to your track we can tell you are laid back rapper, could you tell us more about how you developed your unique rapping style?
I’m definitely a more laid back type of individual, “All the Roses” comes with a vibe of feeling like a late night drive or chillin with some cannabis. The style I display was actually inspired by a mix of Rashad/Lil Xan, a more down to earth approach with that sort of sluggish drug infused flow.
Where do you see yourself at the end of 2018?
Where do I see myself at the end of 2018, hopefully gaining traction on a following while continuing to progress with my craft to become the best artist I can be
In the spirit of the last question, what are your goals for the new year, any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
My goal as of now for the new year is to become much more consistent in making quality sound and to have grown significantly with my music, as I still have much to learn at the young age of 17. A mixtape will eventually be in the works as time progresses but as of now it’s all a process of improvement for me
